ACUPUNCTURE

ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture uses the insertion of fine needles into specific acupuncture points on the body’s surface in order to regulate the flow of Qi. By stimulating these points, energy can be directed to or away from a deficient or excessive organ, stagnant energy can be released, and yin and yang can be rebalanced.

Used for thousands of years, Chinese acupuncture is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body to promote natural healing and alleviate pain. These points, known as acupuncture points or acupoints, are believed to correspond to pathways of energy flow, known as meridians, in the body. By stimulating these points, acupuncture aims to restore the balance of energy, or qi, within the body and improve the flow of energy along the meridians. Acupuncture has been used for centuries to treat a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, musculoskeletal disorders, migraines, anxiety, and nausea.

Some of the benefits of Chinese acupuncture are:

  • Decreased pain intensity and better function when used to treat back pain
  • Reduced frequency of migraine headaches
  • Improved physical function for those suffering from chronic knee pain
